3v3 Football: How it all started? Mr Bazooka's story

It all started exactly 20 years ago, when Anders Wennesland aka mr Bazooka organised his first 3v3 tournament in his home country, Norway.

Being inspired by the US tournaments and having in mind to create something more energetic, motivating and entertaining for young players, mr Bazooka expanded the 3v3 game format across the world and invented a mini goal that could support his vision, the BazookaGoal!

In 2012, Chelsea FC was the first Big Club that used BazookaGoals in their academy training sessions and invited him to see how they used them in training. "They used up to 8 goals in a square or a circle, encouraging players to dribble instead of pass. That's exactly what I had in mind!", Anders says.

What difficulties did he meet in his journey? Which Federations launched 3v3 football as an official game format? How do the AirPitch tournaments engage & motivate players of all levels?

Listen to the whole story of mr Bazooka's journey on Peter Sturgess' podcast "The Session Collective".
